Force Media Announces New Member Club
Author Grady McPeak
Hello, Charter community!
For those of you who are not familiar with who I am, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Grady McPeak, President of Force Media, and it has been my job this past school year to oversee Force Media and its three member organizations: Newspaper Club, Ten Minutes Club, and Photography Club. Now, however, I would like to take the time to make what I would consider to be a very exciting announcement regarding Force Media: the addition of a fourth club into the organization.
Starting with the 2017 - 2018 school year, Force Media will proudly include The Charter School of Wilmington’s chapter of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) as a member club!
For those who do not know, the ACM is the oldest association of computer scientists in the world, dating back to the year 1947. There are chapters of the organization in colleges and universities across the country as well as in professional fields. Currently, only three chapters of the ACM exist in high schools: one in India, one in Kentucky, and one right here in CSW. Considering the prestige of the Association, I am immensely proud to be including Charter’s chapter in Force Media.
With the inclusion of the CSW ACM in Force Media, I hope to provide the group with a platform to demonstrate their talents and connect with the rest of the Charter community in a way unlike ever before. This will include a new page on our website specifically for updates on the projects on which the ACM is working, and more!
The current Co-Presidents of ACM, Jesse Li and Harry Wang, will continue to run the club, and will be joined by Jaydon Reap in the position of Vice-President.
I look forward to the opportunity for Force Media to be a part of Charter’s computer science community and to be able to share it with all of you!
