On February 21st, The Middle States Association (MSA), an organization which works to ensure high-quality education in elementary and high schools across the globe (largely through their process of “accrediting” schools they deem noteworthy), took to Twitter to congratulate the Charter School of Wilmington on being ranked as one of the top schools in the United States. The tweet read:

Congratulations to @CSWJeffCouncil for being named a top 100 Best High School in the U.S. by @Best_Schools! #MSAproud #MSAaccredited

  • Middle States Association (@MSAccredited)

The tweet was sent on February 21st, as a part of a series of similar messages to all the high schools who had received such an honor.

The MSA sent these congratulations based on the rankings made by TheBestSchools.org (tagged in the tweet as @Best_Schools), an organization whose main function is to create and publish rankings of various types of schools. In their article “The 100 Best Public High Schools in the US,” they ranked what they concluded to be the best 100 public American high schools and provided a brief description of each one. They said the following about Charter:
