Spirit Week: Memes, Colors, and Throwbacks!
Author Grace Li
Spirit Week - The week of looking like memes, colors, and throwbacks, obviously.
On the first day, students dressed up like memes and vines. What’s a meme? An idea, among other things, that conveys certain events or themes. Memes have become a part of the culture of internet users from far and wide or nearby.
Color wars on Tuesday consisted of the student grades wearing their class colors. Freshmen were as orange as orange juice, but orange they glad they didn't wear brown? Sophomores wore red - the color of roses; juniors had on white - the easiest color to find in one’s wardrobe, and the easiest to get dirty with stains. Some seniors took pride in their state with blue - literally by taping the Delaware flag on their shirts.
The first two days of Spirit Week momentarily paused on Wednesday for most students to take the PSAT.
Throwback fashion on Thursday ranged from the 90s, 80s, and the Classical Era. Outfits included flannel, togas, and more.
Overall, Spirit Week showcased the variety and perspectives of students across CSW.
